About Westland Farrier
Jamie has been a practicing farrier since 2000. She first began her path apprenticing under her father and later a few other farriers. She attended Heartland Farrier School for advanced Blacksmithing. At the same time she attended college, first community college then Northern Illinois university where she studied psychology and sociology. However her true passion is horses so she has dedicated her life to being a farrier.
Jamie has spent countless hours educating herself on the different types of corrective shoeing and she communicates
well with veterinarians.
About Jamie
Jamie grew up on the back of a horse spending most of her youth trail riding and horse camping. As an adult she has spent most of her time doing a variety of different disciplines from hunting, dressage, western dressage, Working Equation and Breed demonstrations for the critically endangered Dales Ponies.
Most recently she has been showing Novice A in Working Equation on her beloved horse Tag A Long taking home several first place wins this past year(2025) and a 3rd over all at regional finals. She also has been bringing a long a young paint horse with hopes of showing him in the 2026 season. Her personal Dales Pony will be doing his first breed demonstration at the Midwest Horse Fair 2026 they all live with her with her retired fox hunter Mae.
